Good therapy begins with good connection
“The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives.”
—Esther Perel
You want better relationships.
You seek deeper emotional, physical, and spiritual intimacy - with yourself, with your partner(s), and with something greater.
Your life path is non-traditional, and you want someone who sees you and can support you with care and authenticity.
You want a guide who can help you navigate life’s transitions. You want to feel more alive, more embodied, more understood. You seek someone who can connect to pleasure, humor, and joy, even in moments of darkness.
I can help.
A little about me…
I’m Sura Hertzberg, MA, AMFT, KAP (ketamine assisted psychotherapy), and I help people have better relationships.
I support individuals and couples in psychotherapy - in person in SF and virtually across the state of California. I am also an intimacy coach, and support couples and individuals globally with this work (for more info, see the “coaching” tab). My background is in dance and body-based performing arts, conscious kink facilitation, and mindfulness practices. I utilize practices from EFT, IFS (parts work), Gottman, and somatic and depth psychotherapies.
Areas of Focus
My practice is open to folks from all walks of life. I welcome people of many identities and lived experiences, and I aim to create a space that feels affirming, curious, and culturally attuned. If something here resonates and you're wondering if we’re a good fit, I’d love to connect and explore that together.

I draw from EFT, Gottman, Esther Perel, Imago Dialogue, and other tools to support deeper listening and more honest, effective communication. Whether you're stuck in a loop or struggling to say what you really mean, we’ll work together to create space for clarity, repair, and connection.

Sex and intimacy are central to many relationships—but what that means can look wildly different for each of us. I work with individuals and couples who want to explore these realms with honesty and care, including folks in BDSM, kink, poly, ENM, and conscious sexuality communities.

Whether you're feeling the pull of a new chapter or reckoning with the quiet grief of outgrowing an old one, therapy can be a space to reflect, reorient, and realign. I support people in navigating the subtle shifts that come with aging—identity, desire, relationships, purpose—with curiosity and care.
-
Whether you’re exploring marriage, children, or other long-term commitments, these conversations can bring up hopes, fears, and uncertainty. I offer a supportive space for individuals and couples—including those in queer or nontraditional relationships—to slow down, reflect, and connect. Together we can explore your values, desires, ambivalences, and questions, so you can move forward with greater clarity and care.

Premarital therapy offers a chance to slow down and explore the deeper layers of your relationship. I support couples in understanding communication patterns, attachment styles, and the impact of family-of-origin stories—so you can build trust, clarity, and lasting connection together.Item description

Becoming a parent can shake up everything—your identity, your relationship, your nervous system. I support new parents in finding steadiness amid the chaos, tending to the shifts in intimacy, communication, and selfhood that often surface during this tender transition.
-
I work with queer, trans, and LGBTQ+ individuals and couples navigating identity, intimacy, family, and change. Whether you're exploring your relationship to gender, sexuality, community, or belonging, therapy can offer a space to feel seen and supported. My practice is affirming, nonjudgmental, and attuned to the complexities and beauty of queer life.

I provide attuned support for culturally Jewish individuals and couples—whatever that means to you. In today’s climate of grief, fear, and disconnection, therapy can be a space to explore Jewish identity, intergenerational trauma, and the complexities of belonging and belief—with nuance, care, and a commitment to resilience.

I work with individuals and couples navigating adult ADHD and other forms of neurodiversity. Together, we explore how differences in communication, attention, and regulation show up in relationships—with curiosity, compassion, and practical tools for connection.

I’m trained in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and offer preparation and integration support for individuals and couples exploring altered states. Whatever the medicine or experience, I provide a grounded, relational space to process and make meaning of your experiences. I’m also the founding director of sexandpsychedelics.com, a publication at the intersection of research, personal narrative, and art.

I support individuals and couples in polyamorous, open, kink, blended, and other nontraditional relationship structures, offering space to explore communication, boundaries, and connection without judgment.
